A three-hour drive north of Boston, this ruggedly beautiful peninsula island is one of the scores of thin fingers of land that jut into the Atlantic off Maine. Accessible by bridge, it is encircled by the Kennebec, Back, Sasanoa, and Sheepscot rivers, whose waters draw osprey, bald eagles, piping plovers, least terns, egrets, and seals. Georgetown is largely undeveloped, save for working harbors, a few small businesses, and mostly modest homes that often have been in the same families for generations. The setting is serene, the pace of life gentle, the attractions more natural than man-made. This is a place where outdoor beauty is not simply appreciated, but savored. No wonder Georgetown, with its smattering of inns, restaurants, and boat tours, has become a quiet haven for visitors lured by its pristine shores, sheltered coves, and forested coastline.

Tide's End Farm offers you comfortable accommodations in the historic 1770's farmhouse. You may feel like you have stepped back in time looking out on the rolling fields, apple orchards, stone walls and the ocean surrounding this saltwater farm. The floors are mostly pumkin pine polished wood and they are the original floorboards.hi6

Tide's End Farm Bed and Breakfast is located in a very unique location. This working horse farm sits at the top of a hill on a 48 acre island connected tidesendfarmhousesto beautiful Georgetown Island by a causeway. The 1770's farmhouse is bright and airy and offers cozy surroundings including the original wooden floors and fireplaces. The bedrooms are distinctive, there is a central reading room upstairs and a lovely large screened in porch overlooking the fields that roll down to the ocean.

We like this to be your home away from home. We are unique in the that we book only one party,or family, at a time so the feeling is that you really do have the run of a beautiful home on the Maine ocean to yourself. We also do special mother/daughter weekends. Write us to get more information about our very unique vacations! For those interested in the horses, there are riding programs available. The property is lovely to hike, swim, even fish if you desire.
